MMMMM…Kerala—God’s own country indeed…
Just so you all know we have ‘sat down to prepare our feedback’ on our India experience several times since we returned and only now do we feel that we can do so properly (that’s not to say that we haven’t shut up about it though!!)…

We mentioned several times during the course that we felt as if we were gaining even more than others on the course since we had already run NLP trainings. Well, we have just finished our first NLP Practitioner training since India, and it feels right to give this feedback now, because now we can see the real benefits of our time with you all. Here is what we noticed:
- We adopted a very different frame to our sessions that was much more open and real time
- We have started sharing more of ourselves with the group.
- We adopted the concept of integrating feedback on different levels and have dropped a lot of our ‘jargon’ (although we still have further to go on his one!)
- We have dropped explaining a lot of ‘theory’ in favour of using real time examples e.g. rather than discussing each NLP presupposition in turn we highlight when they come up in people’s behaviours naturally. It makes more sense to the delegates and is frankly more rewarding for us also. It means we are training not simply presenting something that is hypothetical.
- We are using ‘off line’ coaching –which is just so handy!
The course we finished last week was possibly one of our best trainings. The feedback we have received has been awesome. Our group commented predominantly on the comfortable style we created that assisted their learning and on how much they learnt about themselves during our time together. Many also thanked us for being so open, and that this then allowed them to explore new areas in themselves.
We both gained such a huge amount from the training in India. Our key learning as trainers has been that people relate to people more than ‘trainers’. It seems ironic that we have done so many other trainings and not really learnt about our ‘it’ . Anyone can learn NLP and stand up and present the subject – but it is a far more refined skill to learn how to stand up before a group and truly be yourself. This course isn’t really for people who want ‘another certificate’ it’s for people who want to learn how to be the sort of trainer that is continually committed to excellence. We feel proud to say sign us up again for next time!
Of course alongside everything we have learnt on the course itself, was our dramatic personal journey. One that could only have taken place in Kerala. Not too sure if it was the morning yoga, the visits to the ashram, one of the many incredible live performances, the trips on the tuk tuks, the traditional Kerala evenings, the Indian massages, the warmth of the people, the music, the company and our new friends – but somewhere amongst it all we had a once in a life time experience that will stay with us forever and has been pinnacle in defining who we are as people and the way we want to live our lives.
We have been taught in the past to always offer a stretch when giving feedback…but no matter how much we try we can not offer a stretch on an experience that was so perfect.
Thank you all so much for creating such an incredible few weeks.
