Hi, I am a 4th year multimedia student looking into multichannel sound as a dissertation reserch subject. I am looking to create a short multichannel piece designed to show off the capabilities of the 5.1 surround sound system with a 10 minute piece of audio with ambient sound and voice. my question is do you think there would be a way of using a short sugestion as part of the introduction of the piece to heighten the listeners ability to experience the sonic illusions? And would there be a method of running sugestive text all the way through the piece to enhance the effectivity of the piece? Thank you for your time Ian Cudmore |

Dear Ian I am very late in getting back to you on this.. The answer is Yes there would. We use and can use embedded commands a lot of the time.. Mostly we use them without realising it... And I guess by now you may have done. this piece of work.... what I would say is be cautious about the ethics of how you do this if not yet complete..... Sincerely, |

Sue, Thanks for the reply, I understand the ethical implications of using covert suggestions but the project is for a university dissertation which will be accompanied with a full write up including use of suggestion within the recording. Would you have any thoughts on the best places to focus my research for effective use of language in the final project? I have read a few books and online articles on the subject but have so far found nothing that directly relates to my project. Thanks again for your time Ian |

Hi there Ian it depends on what exactly you want to research.. Hypnotic Language.. Language patterns in general...? If you want the hypnotic language then Milton Erickson is the source of the work that we study in NLP and the Meta Model by Richard Bandler and John Grinder is a more general use of language and its effects. I have written about both in my book NLP at Work and its use. Sue |
