| Learning with Time Distortion — kurt — Friday, January 23, 2004 |
I see your short term intensive courses. Obviously you're capable of teaching all those info in such little time. do you use time distortion at your teaching? especially with the "calibration" process...one of his writings Bandler was saying "Without the right attitude and belief systems you're just mouthing words not doing nlp" do you agree with him? if you do, how does this reflect at your courses? thanks |

Dear Kurt, Yes I do Intensives but the learning is very different to what people would get on a full NLP Practitioner for example. The intensives are more like small group coaching with some tutorial input and they vary depending on the outcomes of the group. I do also aim to match people in the group so that the theme and level of skill is similar. I totally agree with what Richard Bandler says about attitude and I agree with another NLP trainer David Gordon who says that you can have all the techniques and not subscribe to the Presuppositions and you would not be doing NLP but if you operate out of the presuppositions but know none of the 'techniques' then that would be far more in line with what NLP is all about. How do I reflect that in my courses? Well that is what I measure and that is what I monitor and invite the group to monitor. I more concerned that the group can model and have the attitude of modelling than they know all the criteria for a well formed outcome for example. I think that it is also reflected in the guest speakers that I have that includes Penny Tompkins and James Lawley and Mark McKergow who are all modellers and have made their own unique discoveries and continue to do so. Hope that answers your question. Best wishes, Sue Knight |
