| Help for Mind Control — Sunetra Ghosh — Tuesday, August 12, 2003 |
Dear madam, I am doing a lot of self practice on nlp and other metaphysical methods forimprovenent, but somehow sometimes my mind riverts back to the negative stage if anything triggers off my brain. this is causing a serious hindrance in my progress. How do I control such a situation? Sometimes I am very very positive while the other times, the opposite state takes over. please advise. thanks for the help. |

Dear Sunetra, Well there are many possibilities and many things that you could try. Some things for starters are:- Asking yourself what is the payoff (positive unconscious benefit) that you might be getting from doing this i.e. how does it serve you to revert the negative thinking (on the basis that everything we do serves a purpose often unconscious and sometimes unhealthy) Practice using the SWISH technique (if you do not have details of this then I can forward them to you). Be sure to break state when you have replaced the unwanted patterns of behaviour with the image of the new you so that rather than going round in a loop you finish with the desired state . Communicate with the part that triggers the negative state to find out what it wants for you. All of these take some practice and sometimes it helps to get some coaching or practice with someone else who can facilitate your thinking as they may be able to help you to recognise any blind spots. Have you thought about doing this? I wish you the very best, Sue Knight |
