The Wedding of James and Sarah

No guesses as to why I chose this photo. For it captures the essence of the day – my eldest son’s wedding in Grand Rapids Michigan. Can there be anything more special than seeing your own children find their love in life and James has found it in both his work and now with Sarah. I loved witnessing their happiness and this picture and it has a wonderful informality along with the formality of the uniform. I had never seen him in this dress uniform before. I took it with a Canon SX30 – similar to the G10 but one step up, slightly bigger to carry around but with a 35x optical zoom and a flexible viewfinder that lets me take photos without seeming to point the camera directly at the subject.
